After boarding the aircraft straight from the Etihad Lounge, the crew welcomed me at the boarding door and directed me across the galley and to the right where my seat was at 11L.

Air France has ii business grade cabins on their 777-300ERs. There'due south a mini cabin right backside the first grade cabin which consists of four rows, and then there'due south the much larger motel right behind the 2nd door.

Air French republic uses Zodiac cirrus opposite herringbone business organisation grade seats for their planes. three years ago, it was probably the best seat in business grade, notwithstanding in the final few years with the evolution of the Noon suites, Qatar's Qsuites, and Delta'south A350 seats, these have fallen back a bit. That existence said, they are withal a perfectly comfortable way to cross the Atlantic and take skillful privacy.

seat 11L

Let's talk most the seat itself. The seat cushion was pretty comfortable and the back cushion was quite plush which was nice. The headrest was skilful for sitting, notwithstanding not for sleeping. Thankfully a pillow was provided for sleeping which was good enough. I was non especially impressed with the quality of the pillow but it will suffice for a transatlantic flying.

At each seat, you have a pillow, a soft blanket, and a hangar provided. I put my jacket on the hangar provided and I was about to hang it on the mound by the TV, only within 2d of me hanging my jacket, a crew member came and asked to take my jacket to go along in a coat locker and I idea that was overnice.

Shortly afterwards that, the coiffure came around with assiduities kits. I'm not sure that there was a difference in the contents, just there were three different colors to choose from and I chose the blue one.

blue assiduities kit

The contents were nice for a 7 hr flight across the Atlantic ocean. The toothpaste/toothbrush was all I needed as I was too lazy to take out my own from my bag. Though there was also some cremes and moisturizers that I definitely remember others could notice useful.

To the right of the seat, a storage compartment opens and in there was enough of space to store things. In there was Air France's noise canceling headphones which weren't that great, so I didn't bother with them.

Right above the area where your right ear is, there would be a reading light.

Simply push button the circular push and the low-cal turns on.

The way the zodiac reverse herringbone seat differs from other opposite herringbone seats is that the TV is folded and can come out. Information technology isn't stock-still in place. To release the Television receiver, simply push button the silver push to the lesser left of the Television set, and the TV comes out.

By your talocrural joint area, in that location is a magazine rack and in that you have slippers. This is a nice addition to the assiduities kit, peculiarly for a shorter vii hr flight.

The kit came with slippers, socks, and headphone covers for the headphones provided.

Now it wasn't until after we pushed back that the crew came around with pre-departure drinks. They came around with a choice between water and orangish juice. I went with orange juice.

Soon plenty we taxiied to our deviation runway and had a fairly long scroll.

takeoff

x minutes afterward takeoff, the crew came around with menus on the left alley of the motel. It took some other 10 minutes after that for the coiffure working the right aisle to distribute menus. Here'south a look at the menu for this flight.

After distributing menus, the crew came effectually with spectacles of champagne for everyone in the motel. Air France serves Cuvee in business class.

The cabin crew then began the meal service. They began service with those who wanted the express service starting time.

Afterward that, the rest of us were served. I wasn't as well happy that at that place was but i selection of appetizer merely information technology is what it is. Everyone was served the same salad, quinoa, and foie gras starter. When they initially set the tray on your table, each individual plate has a plastic cover from probably when the dishes were put together and they remove the plastic covers in forepart of you. While that's not a big deal, it'south probably something that should be done in the galley.

With that, the coiffure as well asked what potable we wanted to go with our appetizer and I went with sparkling water.

IMG_2987
appetizer

The salad was skillful for what you'd look out of a salad. It besides came with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing. The olive oil was skillful and and so did the balsamic vinegar, but information technology had this weird musty taste that I'd never had from balsamic vinegar.

IMG_6789
salad

The quinoa was chilled and tasted decent with a light sense of taste from the vegetables effectually it. I'm not a big fan of foie gras and only had a seize with teeth and left it at that. It's definitely an acquired taste and ane that I don't have for that.

Afterward finishing the appetizers, the crew came and nerveless our plates. At the same time, they served the main course that we had ordered. They also refilled my sparkling h2o which was good. At that place were iii choices between a braised beef in thyme sauce, chicken in vino sauce, and mushroom risotto with chestnut creme.

The dish looked sloppy, but it was better than it looked. The craven was squeamish and moist merely bland by itself. The vino sauce, in addition, made information technology tastier and I enjoyed information technology. The artichoke puree also looked sloppy but it was delicious. The same goes for the caramelized apples. Overall, the primary class was good.

Once I finished my chief course, the crew cleared my tray and offered to refill my sparkling water at which I declined and simply asked for hot water. They merely left the dessert and cheese.

IMG_0742
dessert

The dessert was a caramel cake and it was hands the highlight of my meal. It was absolutely delicious and I wish there was more of it.

IMG_0815

The cheeses were also tasty and a proficient ending to the meal.

Overall, the meal was mostly good except for perchance the titbit. I particularly liked the portions as I felt full at the finish of the meal, not blimp. Other airlines go overkill on the portions in business or first grade and non simply does the passenger not finish, simply it'southward besides a waste product of money by the airline for producing so much more food and having information technology wasted. One thing that took abroad from the whole experience was the fact that all of the services was being done from a cart that was brought through the aisles. I call back that'southward just going through the motions, doesn't actually differentiate the experience much, and takes abroad from the personal aspect of the experience.

After our tray tables were cleared, I headed to the lavatories to check them out.

IMG_5540

At that place was actually nothing also special near them that made it different from economy grade besides the clarins perfumes.

IMG_1182
Clarins

When I came dorsum, waiting at my seat were 2 chocolates with a Christmas decor. It was the holiday season after all, so why not?

IMG_1136

Information technology was just polish cruising at this point.

I made my bed with the pillow and blanket and got into bed. The blanket was soft and quite comfy. You would exist sleeping directly on the seat with no duvet but that's perfectly fine as the seat was mostly costly.

I got 3.5 hours of sleep which is all that I can ask for on a 6.5-hr transatlantic hop. I woke upwards simply as nosotros were passing south of Ireland.

IMG_2161

Shortly afterwards waking upwards, breakfast service began. There was goose egg too much about this either, it was the aforementioned thing for anybody. Fifty-fifty though I was unhappy with the lack of choice, I was happy with the option they fabricated of what they gave united states of america.

IMG_0889
Breakfast

The fruits were nice and refreshing. They consisted of watermelon, cantaloupe, and mango. All tasted fresh and prissy.

IMG_7342
fruits

The breads were ok. They barely lukewarm but they were soft which I was happy to run across.

IMG_3014
breads

They likewise gave butter & jam for the breads and and so there was plain yogurt which I downed in no time.

IMG_7119
breakfast

I was happy with the breakfast overall. Fruits, bread, and plain yogurt. Y'all can't get much healthier and the portion was just right. The coiffure also offered drinks at this fourth dimension for which I chose hot h2o.

We were too given hot scented towels after breakfast.

IMG_4060.jpg

Soon afterward, we began our descent. The captain gave the pre-inflow updates including an early arrival and the temperature being sub 32 Fahrenheit/0 celsius. I immediately changed from my flip flops to socks/shoes when I heard that.

On our descent, we got great views of Paris given that CDG is only northeast of the city so we descended northward of Paris and got those views.

IMG_3157
views

We touched down about 25 minutes early on at 7:xx AM. Given that nosotros were further up in the northern hemisphere in the winter, we wouldn't see whatever sunlight at least for a couple more hours.

IMG_3999
inflow

Unfortunately, nosotros arrived at a autobus gate which I was not looking frontward to given the sub-freezing weather.

The autobus was merely a short walk away from the plane and it was FREEZING on the tarmac. I was already wearing a jacket and long pants with shoes and socks and the cold got through inside a infinitesimal.

Air France

Overall, this was a generally pleasant manner to wing beyond the Atlantic ocean. The seats were great, the crew was great, the food was by and large skilful, and the amenities were plenty sufficient for a 7 hour overnight flight. I wish Air France personalized the service with the removal of the carts equally a part of their service. I volition say that the only parts where I thought they could ameliorate were the petty things that didn't affair so much like the removing of plastic covers from the food, the sometime balsamic vinegar, etc. They definitely did all the master things right. Would I wing Air France'due south business organisation again? Aye!
